Director, Structurer, Commercial Real Estate, Emerging Markets Investment Bank, Moscow/Frankfurt

- One of our clients, an Emerging Markets Investment Bank, is seeking a Structurer to join their Global Structuring Group, based in either Moscow or Frankfurt
- The selected individual will primarily focus on structuring and executing commercial real estate financing deals
- The role is broad and deal flow includes cross-border leveraged finance, asset-based finance, mezzanine finance, commodity finance and other structured finance deals with a global client set


  • 8 – 12 years’ experience with a background in structured lending (including acquisition finance, leveraged finance, asset-based title finance or real estate finance)
  • An understanding of commercial and legal considerations, proven deal execution experience, knowledge of legal framework & structure, tax, accounting, regulatory aspects are essential
  • Experience in cross-border commercial real estate financing is a must, together with general exposure to structuring complex deals in Emerging Market jurisdictions
  • Communication, negotiation, project management and teamworking skills are of great importance at this job, as it requires direct client facing and negotiating skills
  • Track record in creating the governance and other infrastructure for the execution processes is essential
  • Russian language is a requirement, any other languages is a plus
  • CFA and/or ACCA qualification is preferable but not a prerequisite


  • Report into Head of Structuring
  • The individual will make decisions regarding optimal transaction structural features, credit enhancement, security and covenant packages documentation as well as be fully accountable for all aspects of the transaction execution
  • The Structurer will work as part of a team with other members of the structuring group, as well as with research, traders, salespeople and bankers
  • This is a client-facing role, so the Structurer is expected to possess practical negotiating and public speaking experience
  • The main duties will comprise structuring, negotiating and executing transactions with a primary focus on deals involving illiquid loans
  • The individual will also, at times, be required to work with a range of other products (e.g., equities and derivatives)
  • The position requires strong team working skills and the candidate should be able to bring in expertise of various departments such as finance, tax, legal, to provide that all aspects of a transaction are considered with due scrutiny and prudence
  • Specific tasks include structuring transactions, working on cross-product idea generation, engaging in commercial negotiations, negotiating documentation and instructing counsel in respect of its drafting, leading and coordinating the deal closing process
