- An Emerging and Frontier Markets focused investment bank is looking to add an Exploration & Production (E&P) Equity Analyst to their office in London
- Work closely with the firm’s oil & gas research team and support the team, where appropriate, on broader sector coverage initiatives

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree, ideally also a master’s degree / MBA from a reputable institution
  • Good experience of working in the industry in one of the international hubs essential
  • 7+ years’ experience in an Investment Banking industry, 5+ years’ experience in covering oil & gas sector essential
  • Background could be Research, PE or IB (Equities, ECM / Corp Finance, DCM, etc.) essential
  • 12 - 15 years’ relevant depth and breadth of experience preferred
  • Some oil & gas industry experience or related formal education is a plus (e.g., geologist, engineer, project management, auditor) preferred
  • Must have a passion for emerging markets and a broad understanding of the African markets

Responsibilities: 

  • Formal Coverage of listed E&P oil and gas companies operating across emerging and frontier markets
  • Formal Coverage of listed fuel distribution companies operating across emerging and frontier markets
  • Form views of local oil and gas markets and be ready to formulate country or specific oil and gas views across the space at short notice
  • Produce frequent high-quality pieces of research on the covered stocks to be distributed to external clients
  • Work closely with local management and banking teams, where appropriate, to support our business Ines in that sector
  • Regular marketing trips to see our key client bases in globally
  • Continuous communication to both internal and external clients on the key aspects that are moving share prices in the sector
  • Become the franchise and go to person for the investment community on covered oil and gas stocks
