- Our client is seeking a Senior Africa Debt Capital Markets Transactor to join their newly established London office
- The individual will work with corporate and government clients to develop, structure, and implement financing solutions to meet their capital needs. This will include structuring and distributing issuance's of debt capital markets products together with the Syndicate and Sales teams


  • 6+ years’ experience in International Debt Capital Markets, with a focus on Emerging Market / High Yield issuers. Previous experience within Africa is required
  • Knowledge of investment and financial product markets
  • Experience in Lending and Credit Financing
  • Bachelor’s Degree in commerce, Banking, Investments


  • Origination, structuring and execution of Hard Currency DCM opportunities across our coverage area
  • Maintain relationships with the key clients together with a pipeline of potential transactions
  • Manage and produce client strategy, bid on new deals with existing clients and access to senior/mid-level client decision makers
  • Responsible for managing the process around deal launches and execution, market research as well as engaging with Compliance regarding the necessary wall crossing
  • Develop and maintain links with other departments and product areas to maximise cross selling opportunities
  • Minimise operational, reputational, legal and all other risk
  • Liaising with the various stakeholders throughout transaction process to ensure ratings obligations are met timeously
  • Providing advice on the optimal timing for launching an issue of notes and providing regular market updates. Preparing and formulating a transaction timetable and marketing strategy
  • Assisting with the preparation, in conjunction with such legal and other advisers as the bank considers appropriate, of the documentation required for the programme and the offering
  • Coordinating the work of the various advisers involved in the programme and the offering
  • Assisting with the marketing of the notes will include arranging an international investor roadshow targeting key institutional investors and leveraging the Syndicate team and investor relationships to solicit investor interest
  • Preparing road show material (in conjunction with the Issuer) and relevant marketing material to potential investors
  • Coordinating with the Syndicate team to manage book builds/auction processes
  • Build strong relationships with both global and local internal and external stakeholders
  • Effectively communicate developments within areas of activity to all relevant stakeholders
  • Collaborate with Client Coverage and Syndicate teams to deliver a high level of client service
  • Report on market conditions, market deal & origination activity, mandated pipeline, and executed transactions
  • Provide ongoing advice and direction to the operational environments managed by this role in terms of the areas of focus, opportunities, key targets and relative policies
  • Actively participate in all internal client reviews from a service perspective provided by areas under responsibility through a process of formalised service review (including questionnaires, production reporting, loss event reporting, etc)
  • Drive the proactive negotiation of service level contracts with business unit heads with a continued focus on improved performance, reduction in turnaround times and reduced cost
  • Work with the Finance team in responsibility on improving the models for transfer pricing or cost allocation between Trading and relevant business units
  • Continuously monitor service levels and implement strategic measures to improve customer satisfaction and overall profitability
  • Implement governance structures and stakeholder frameworks to ensure effective customer management and engagement
