- One of our clients, an international investment bank, is seeking a Director/Associate Director to be based in London
- The Illiquid Credit Trading desk is part of Global markets and works closely with Sales/Origination and Structuring teams on structured lending transactions
- As the primary risk owner, the Illiquid Credit Trading desk has ultimate P&L responsibility and is involved in every stage of a transaction – origination, structuring, negotiation and distribution and trading
- The Illiquid Credit Trading desk specialises in complex and highly structured transactions in a diverse set of industries across capital structure from senior to mezzanine and hybrid capital
- Geographically, the desk focuses on corporate and sovereign opportunities primarily in EMEA
- Illiquid Credit Trading team takes proprietary positions in deals it originates and manages a sizeable credit portfolio
- The ideal candidate would have dedicated EM experience and speak one of the following European languages: Spanish, Italian, Portuguese or French


  • The ideal candidates must have a minimum of 10 years relevant experience at a top tier investment bank or equivalent institution
  • An Illiquid Credit Trading background and experience in EMEA markets originating local risk for distribution
  • A proven track record of leading transactions independently, including the ability to operate in an emerging local structure with appropriate junior support
  • Experience with private financing, share backed and equity linked financings, structured credit, structured loans with embedded equity, commodity and FX derivatives, and asset backed financings
  • Strong valuation skills, an exceptional track record and excellent team player


  • Evaluate the credit risk of illiquid, usually single borrower instruments
  • Market making EMEA High Yield Loans and Bonds
  • The origination and distribution of transactions
  • In addition to the critical soft management skills of leading a deal, the candidate will still need to work with models, documentation and perform diligence as necessary in order to bring a transaction to a close
