Chief Financial Officer, Leading Global Drybulk Carrier, Athens
One of the top 5 Greek shipping companies is seeking to hire a CFO to be based in their headquarters in Athens, Greece. Global provider of marine transportation services for drybulk cargoes listed on the Nasdaq Exchange with market capitalization of US$3bSeeking to create shareholder value by acquiring and operating second hand drybulk carriers across the size spectrum, including large (Capesize), medium (Panamax) and small (Handymax and Handysize), and employing them in a combination of "spot charter", and "period time charter" contracts and pools. Fleet carrying capacity over 4 m deadweight tons (dwt) across 40 vessels.
Responsibilities:
- Co-ordinate the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements (Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, Cash Flow Statement), capital statements and all supporting documentation
- Lead the effort to communicate effectively financial performance information to investors and organize and structure processes in the wider Investor Relations area
- Regular reporting to the shareholders and the Board; travelling to New York
- Coordinate and supervise the Net Asset Value calculation
- Arrange and manage debt financing
- Oversee the set-up, registration and maintenance of all holding companies
- Selecting tax entities for new ventures
- Assisting in lease vs. buy decisions
- Treasury management reporting to CFO
- Projections, forecasts and budgeting
- Due diligence related to mergers or acquisitions
- Tax planning – for the business and principals
- Retirement plan consulting
Requirements:
- The ideal candidate may possess a strong combination of commercial, operational and technical skills in the shipping industry
- A proven track record either within a blue chip investment bank or major shipping organization
- Exposure to international work experience
- Professionally qualified Accountant (GAAP) is preferable
- Investor Relations experience is essential
- Strong work ethic and commitment and personal gravitas that inspire confidence to the investors
- Fluent in Greek and English
